Trade unions? Don't ever "trade" our union with Jesus!
God uses personalities of all kinds for the ministry ...so don't think He couldn't ever use you. Of course, in the process of leading you, He may desire to make some changes. Pastors are a variable group also ...and I'm thankful that Pastor Tom and Pastor Myron are encouragers. I'm thankful for all the encouragers who I worked with before I retired too. I'm not just a receiver though ...I hope I showed kindness also. Now onto little league baseball ...most of you are familiar with it. The coaches are also a variable sort. I'm thankful we've had encouragers for our boys. Some are of the "boot camp" variety, and some are screamers. One thing I noticed though. Often when a member of a team, or within a leadership role of a group is faced with compiling strategies and decisions, the dynamics change. And how a person stands often varies according to the group they are in at any given moment. Personalities change ...and it affects decisions, which affect our lives to different degrees. That is partly why I have never been fond of many groups. It's not that I am so unwilling to sacrifice things for the benefit of others ...as I do often put myself last. But I do have firm convictions and when I believe they may be compromised, I may become rather unbending. If I don't believe something benefits me, that may be one thing, but if I feel it may be detrimental to most in the long run, and benefits only a few opportunists for the short grab ...then I do oppose it. I believe in the Bible and what God has so clearly taught us. More and more people contend that they believe in a loving God, who accepts whatever state we are in ...through His love. I believe a loving God would reveal to us all about that love, not through a variable sort ...breeding only an undefinable understanding of Him, and an unsettling confusion. I believe God has revealed His love to us in the Bible, and that is the source of settling differences. Any other book that claims to reveal to us who God is, is inconsistent with the Bible, and contradictory documents can't both be true. All others quickly reveal their true nature or hidden agendas. How can anyone not see the sad commentaries brought about by following after anything other than the Bible?
