Just because you often disagree with someone ...does not mean you should ignore the wisdom that others can offer.

So, where is your treasure?? What do you treasure most??

Jan. 18, 2015
We know the heart is a cardiac function ...and what we refer to the heart is actually the mind, of which some wish to share, some want to influence, some aim to sway, and others plot to possess.
A person could be stranded on an island, with no other people around, and have a horse as the only living thing around aside from plants and a few fish in the surrounding water.  The horse could be fed and nourished, the horse could be a companion, the horse could be trained to do work, or the horse could be eaten and its bones made into tools.
What do you think you'd do?  Most of have an idea of what we would do, but likely we would not really know unless we found ourselves in that situation without much hope anyone else would find us.
And no, there are no computers on the island ...so, none of you are presently in the situation I've described, though a select few of you may have been at one time.  So, I will pose another question for this time.
Which do you feel is more important: Affording our things, or affording our emotions??
Afford means being able to do something without risking serious consequences.  It can also mean to give, yield, or furnish ...as in affording pleasure.
Yield can means more than one thing also, as in: to produce, to be worth, to invest, to cultivate.
In the growth of plants, we have to consider what our Creator provided as the proper nutrients of: water, sun, and soil.
Then we must ...
  • Select the right seed
  • Plant the seed at the proper depth
  • Monitor the healthy supply of nutrients
  • Cultivate ...ridding the area of unwanted competition
That should yield you a good healthy atmosphere for plants.
Yet, there is another definition for the word yield. It also means to give in, or surrender ...and at times it may mean to give up.
To give up, is not on average considered a good thing.  But, it depends what we give up. and to whom.
Jesus gave up His life for us.

You may not know me …but, know Him!!!

Hi, my name is Stephen Meiner …and if you think you know me, you may.

If you are not sure, that’s okay, there are much more important things to be sure of.

After all, it’s not about me.

What is more important …who we are, or what we say??

Well, who we are …for all of us, is most important.  We are human beings, whether old, young, or just conceived.

What we say, may be rather inconsistent at times.  Don’t get me wrong, I believe it is important what we say …and that may be influenced by what we believe, but not always.  We do get a bit testy, irritable, or moody at times …and we do have a tendency to say what we don’t mean to say.

And what we say can be very damaging to others.  Yet, let’s not forget that it can be very damaging to us also.  And I don’t mean we could get a black eye, or worse.  The actual worse, is what it does to us inside …where our minds operate, and which some of us refer to as our hearts.

Though we should not be exclusively judged by what we say …what we say can be denied, repeated, retracted, or any number of ways we respond to our own words while people respond to us.  We can also say we are sorry, and we can tell others they are forgiven.

Accepting who we are can be life-changing and can relieve us of our greatest burdens.

It seems most things have an inclination to value legality …if we desire to maintain a continuing value of it.

We go to obtain a license to drive a car, or to get married.  We also obtain a deed to property, or a home.  And it is a process of requesting.

Gifts are a bit different, though to a certain degree, because we don’t pay for them, they may not be valued as much.

We can accept a gift, then toss it somewhere and never look at it again.  Or we can be thankful for the gift …and put it to good use.

The gift that is tossed somewhere has been accepted, as not to offend another.  But, the gift that is valued, is the gift that is really accepted.

God sent His Son, as a gift to us.  How do we view that??
