How do we feel at the end of the day?

Do we relax at the end of a hard day's work? How about the end of a relationship? Has there been a time in our life where the relationship wasn't ever really there? Do we fit into one of these groups? Parents who never really had the time for their children? Children who've drifted from their parents (for various reasons)? Families who've lost loved ones? And families who've lost those whom they never really told how they felt ...perhaps never knowing themselves?

Just saw one of my all-time favorites: 2nd season of 'Little House on the Prairie', a two-parter, entitled, 'Remember Me'. How about our relationship with God? Do we have one ...and if so, have we become complacent with it?

Psalm 106:4, "Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation."

Billy Graham's daughter, Anne, was on TV last night. I'm not even going to try to guess any woman's age ...let's suffice to say, she was born before me, but that's not the issue. She said she believes she's in the generation of 'End Times'. I find no dispute with anything I heard her say last evening. Perhaps it didn't affect me the way it should have; though it did get me thinking. It hasn't been that long ago that Harold Camping predicted an exact day. Some of Camping's followers had very intimate gatherings with their children. Others passed out tracts to tell people about Jesus. Some of the skeptics took a different approach ...bars and restaurants planning bashes, scoffing at the very thought of it. I recall when the book, 'Left Behind', first came out. It became popular ...affecting people in a way that brought them closer to a possible reality. How often through the day, do we seriously look within ourselves, evaluating and considering 'known realities ...and live our lives in accordance to those thoughts? I would guess it was somewhat the same just before the Flood of Noah's time, with scoffers living it up. Sodom and Gomorrah seemingly didn't have a clue either. We can all lay claim to our version of 'Chicken Little', whether we fear a huge meteor is on a collision course with Earth; whether global warming will cause our demise; or whether the sky will come crashing down because we feel it's too close and we have to hurry to raise the debt ceiling. In these scenarios, we may feel our lives are ruled by 'chance', and we have to grab all the gusto we can. But if we believe Jesus is going to return, I doubt we'd take the approach of a bachelor's party before a marriage. That sort of mentality is absurd to me ...and I doubt it would be preparation for the blessed called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.
